Canadian leader Justin Trudeau has apologised after a yearbook photo of him in brownface makeup emerged.
The image, which was published by Time magazine, depicts Mr Trudeau wearing a turban and robe, with makeup on his hands, face and neck.
All of which could spell serious trouble for him in the election, with polls saying he is facing a serious challenge from Conservative leader Andrew Scheer.

Mr Trudeau wore the make-up as he was at a costume party at the time.
The picture was taken at the West Point Grey Academy, a private school in Vancouver, British Columbia where he worked as a teacher before he entered politics.
It was at the schools annual dinner which had an Arabian Nights theme, and which saw the Canadian leader dressed as a character from Aladdin.

Speaking to journalists after the photo emerged, Mr Trudeau said: Im pissed off at myself, Im disappointed at myself.
I take responsibility for my decision to do that. I shouldnt have done it, he added.
I should have known better. It was something that I didnt think was racist at the time, but now I recognise it was something racist to do and I am deeply sorry.
