Southwark (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Police confirmed 17-year-old Yeray Sanchez-Morales died in hospital on September 3, a week after being stabbed on Old Kent Road in Southwark.
On Monday, September 1, one of his alleged murderers, who was only 15 years old, was taken into custody on suspicion of attempting to kill. Officers accused the child, who cannot be identified due to his age, with murder, grievous bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon on Thursday, September 4, in light of Yeray’s passing. Today, he is scheduled to make an appearance in the Old Bailey.
Three other youths are scheduled to appear in Bromley Magistrates Court today (Monday, September 8) after being charged with his murder.
After being taken into custody on Friday, September 5th, the 16-year-old was charged on Saturday, September 6th, with murder, grievous bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon.
Two 17-year-olds were taken into custody and charged with murder and serious bodily injury on Sunday, September 7.
After receiving reports of a stabbing, police and the London Ambulance Service arrived on the site and discovered two 17-year-old lads who had been stabbed.
Yeray Sanchez-Morales, one of the teens, was admitted to the hospital in a life-threatening condition but tragically passed away a week later.
After being transported to the hospital, the second victim’s injuries were determined to be neither life-threatening nor life-altering. Since then, he has been released.
Witnesses to the incident, which took place outside a busy McDonald’s on Old Kent Road in Southwark, are still being urged by police to come forward. This includes any drivers who might have dash cam evidence.
