4 people arrested in Harringay stabbing case on Tiverton Road

Haringey News (Parliament Politics Magazine) – After a 36-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the Haringey borough, North London, three men and a woman were taken into custody on the suspicion of murder.

A 36-year-old man was stabbed to death in Harringay due to a minor conflict witnessed by people.

Police authorities were informed about a conflict on Tiverton Road, N15, at 04:55 today on Monday, January 13, 2025. The officers, medical help, and London air ambulance reached the place of the incident immediately. They treated the stabbed man. But, unfortunately, he died at the crime scene.

Four people were arrested. A 20-year-old man was arrested by the authorities at the crime scene. However, the other three: two men, 20 and 23 years old, and one woman, 23 years old—were arrested near the crime scene. 

They are all still under detention for murder charges.

Following the knife incident, witnesses say “two raids” occurred close to the estate, prompting police to close the road.

While enquiries continue, a portion of the estate is still restricted.

There is still a cordon and an increased police presence in the area as the Specialist Crime team conducts further investigations.

Caroline Haines, Detective Chief Superintendent of the North Area Command Unit responsible for Haringey police, said:

“We are saddened to hear about this morning’s tragic incident and are working to ensure the man’s family are informed and supported by specialist officers as soon as possible.

“Our officers acted swiftly and arrested four people on suspicion of murder who are now in custody. Local residents can expect to see more police in the area while we carry our enquiries and as part of extra patrols.

“We are also urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything related to this incident to contact us, you may have information vital to our investigation.”

What measures are taken by police officials following the incident?

Harringay Following the stabbing tragedy at Tiverton Road in Harringay, the police have responded by taking several swift actions.

The police cordon was put up around the area following the killings to preserve the scene and facilitate the investigation.

In a bid to calm the neighborhood and ensure that more violence is not registered, authorities have increased the security in the region. This consists of community involvement initiatives and patrols aimed at illuminating public complaints.

The police are actively seeking witnesses who might have witnessed the conflict or who might know specific details about the occurrence. Anyone with data, especially video footage, is being urged to come ahead.

How are police responding to recent instances of stabbing?

In the past few years, the number of stabbings and knife crimes has increased. This is concerning public safety. There were some 15,016 stabbing-related offenses recorded in London during 2024, up 2.7% from the previous year.

This includes a 4% rise in offenses causing injury.

A sixteen-year-old guy, Harry Pitman, was stabbed at Primrose Hill. It happened during the time of the New Year celebration. After the investigation by police authorities, it was found that two young guys, who were 16 and 17 years old, were involved in the murder. 

They eventually accepted their crime and were arrested. Police stated that there was no involvement of any gang. The incident was due to a minor fight that turned out of control.

In a series of violent events that have marred East London in the last day, one was stabbed while the other two were shot. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the two are examining the possibility of whether the events might be related to each other.
