Farage hosts event with Musk, Brexiteers, and Trump ties
The grand event will be hosted by Nigel Farage, with financial support from his old Brexiteer associates, Arron Banks, Andy Wigmore, and American entrepreneur Gerry Gunster.
Automated Analytics, the sponsor behind the world’s first AI-powered cloud data center, will participate in the event. The center will be powered by renewable energy from offshore windmills near the Humber.
Sally Jameson, the new Labour MP for Doncaster, has supported the plan of arranging the party and could be at the event.
Reform leader and Musk will reconnect after tensions
This gathering will be the first between Mr. Farage and Mr. Musk since Musk called for the Reform UK leader to step down last weekend. Sources suggest that Mr. Trump’s team has been working behind the scenes to rebuild their relationship before the inauguration. However, it will be their second meeting in December; they both already met with the Reform UK Treasury at Mar-a-Lago.
A close source of the Musk-Farage dynamic told the press, “Musk and Farage are friends and always will be.”
Rumors about $100m donation from Musk to Farage’s party
It was reported that Mr. Musk had considered a $100 million contribution to Reform while expressing support for Mr. Farage through retweets of his posts. In return, Farage has moderated his criticism of Tommy Robinson, whom the tech billionaire had earlier called a “political prisoner” over the grooming gangs scandal.
Later, the Reform leader dismissed speculation of such huge party funding from Elon Musk, but he called him a hero and an influential figure for his party in the next elections.
Musk’s global influence
After helping Donald Trump win the recent election, the Tesla owner has been accused of secretly backing several right-wing parties. These include the Reform Party in the U.S., Germany’s far-right Alternative for Deutschland (AfD), and Giorgia Meloni’s Fratelli d’Italia party in Italy.
Since last month, he has been repeatedly criticizing Labour’s government for its policies related to investment and the Oldham child sexual abuse inquiry. The tech mogul also criticized the UK’s safeguarding minister for her rejection of the child abuse investigation.
Farage’s ally view on inauguration party
Mr Wigmore, a key Brexiteer figure and close ally of Nigel Farage, stated, “This is going to be the biggest inauguration party in town. Everybody who is anybody is going to be there, including Elon and Nigel.”
While Mr Gunster said, “Gunster Strategies is proud to host the Stars, Stripes, and the Union Jack event for the second time at the Hay-Adams.”
Lord Mandelson and Dame Priti’s attendance at the party
Lord Mandelson’s participation in the party shows he is willing to work with Nigel Farage to improve relations between Trump and Keir Starmer’s government. Despite Labour’s earlier resistance, Mandelson is ready to put aside political differences.
Dame Priti’s attendance could signal an effort by the Tories to strike a deal with Nigel Farage and Reform. Known for her hardline Brexit stance, she shares a history with Farage, including their infamous dance at a Conservative conference.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Reform UK leader Nigel Farage and other MPs of his party are earning a huge amount from Elon Musk’s platform, which they declared in the Parliament register.
