Lambeth (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Lambeth Council’s Civic Awards 2025 finalists are announced after residents nominated local heroes. The shortlist honors outstanding community contributions.
Residents of Lambeth were requested to submit local people, organizations, and groups that perform outstanding work in the borough for the Lambeth Civic Awards. The awards are intended to honor and highlight the charitable work that the people of Lambeth accomplish.
Nominations for the Civic Awards were accepted from Monday, December 16, until Sunday, February 2. The Lambeth Council requested nominations for people, organizations, and groups that change the world by helping others with their time, labor, or enthusiasm.
Lambeth Council received hundreds of nominations during the course of the six-week nomination session. The council expressed gratitude to all those who took the effort to nominate.
Many people and organizations were nominated for Lambeth Civic Awards. The quantity of nominees was remarkable. The Lambeth Civic Awards, which honor and celebrate the achievements of the corporate community, the voluntary sector, and the people of Lambeth, received nearly 500 nominations in nine award categories.
The contenders have now been shortlisted by the Civic Awards panel, which includes a group of Lambeth council leaders and community partners.
“Congratulations to everyone who was nominated and made it to the final list,” the council added.
How did the cabinet and leader respond to the nominations?
Cllr Claire Holland, Leader of the Council, said that their vibrant business community and the passionate voluntary sector are essential to making Lambeth what it is. They all care deeply about Lambeth and helping it to thrive.
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone who works tirelessly to make Lambeth an amazing place to live. I’m excited to celebrate in April with the finalists and winners”,
he added.
Cllr Donatus Anyanwu, Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Leisure, and Sport, said:
“Our communities are amazing, and we want to make sure we celebrate them. We received some truly heart-warming stories, so I wanted to thank everyone who nominated for the Awards.
Congratulations to the finalists, but also a huge thank you to all the organisations and people around Lambeth who do incredible work, even if they were not finalised.”
What criteria is used to select the finalists of Lambeth Civic Awards?
The nominees have to have contributed significantly to Lambeth by their time, or labor.
The nominee’s efforts ought to improve the Lambeth community and make it a better place to live, work, or conduct business.
Nominees must demonstrate extraordinary promise, leadership, responsibility, or effect in the category for which they are nominated, as well as meet the particular requirements listed for that category.
Residents, people, organizations, and enterprises based in Lambeth can all be nominated. Employees of Lambeth Council are not qualified.
To be taken into consideration, nominations must be accurate, comprehensive, and non-offensive. Nominations are not accepted from organizations or community groups that are not established in Lambeth.
