Barnet (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Transport for London will relocate automated parcel machines in Golders Green after consultations with Barnet officials to address community concerns.
Since the lockers were situated in a significant green area, locals were worried that they would compromise security and encroach on the conservation area.
On Tuesday, June 24, Child’s Hill Labour council members met with TfL and InPost, the companies who run the APMs. Anne Clarke, who represents Barnet and Camden in the GLA assembly, was also present.
Childs Hill Labour councillor, Nigel Young, said:
“Collection lockers are convenient for residents and we want people in Childs Hill and Golders Green to have this facility.
But it has to be in the right place. Residents voiced their concerns and we were happy to make sure they were heard.”
Anne Clarke said:
“It’s good to see TfL and InPost taking the issue seriously. At short notice, we arranged a site visit where they agreed to move the locker. We look forward to the new location being identified.”
When will TfL relocate the Golders Green lockers to improve access for residents?
After local lawmakers and people voiced concerns about the automated parcel lockers’ current location, Transport for London (TfL) agreed to move them to Golders Green in order to enhance access. However, as of June 28, 2025, the information that is now accessible does not provide the precise time that TfL will execute the move.
The automated parcel machines (APMs), often known as lockers, in Golders Green, Barnet, will be relocated by Transport for London (TfL). Meetings with local lawmakers and council members who expressed disapproval of the lockers’ current location led to this decision.
Concerns had been raised by locals and community leaders about the lockers’ appropriate location in a crowded public space, accessibility, and aesthetic impact.
