Havering (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Havering pub, The Crowning Angel, has submitted plans for new signage and awnings, aiming to refresh its street presence and enhance visual branding.
Stonegate Group, a pub firm, has requested advertising permission for three plaques, one non-illuminated sign, and five new illuminated signs at The Crowning Angel on South Street.
It is suggested that two of the signs be hung from the building’s side and illuminated by LED strip lights across the top.
Three of these signs would likewise be illuminated from above by strip lighting, while the others would be positioned flush against the building’s front and side.
Replacement floodlights will also be installed along the front and side of the bar, which reopened on July 2 following a renovation and rebranding.
The proposals call for replacing the two awning fabrics over the smoking area while maintaining the current front terrace barriers.
Additionally, it is suggested that new vinyls bearing the Crowning Angel logo be put to the smoking shelter screens.
A Crowning Angel mirror sign is one of the new signs already inside the venue, which was once known as Yates, as part of the two-week renovation.
By September 10, the Havering Council is supposed to decide on the external signs.
How will new signage and awnings enhance the pub’s exterior appearance and visibility?
Bright, well-designed signs and awnings make the pub stand out, especially on a busy street like South Street in Romford. Distinctive branding and lighting help attract passersby—both on foot and by car—making the pub easier to spot from a distance.
Fresh awnings and contemporary signage can update and revitalize the pub’s facade, replacing any outdated or faded elements. This creates a more welcoming, vibrant first impression that can appeal to new customers.
Awnings not only provide shelter for outdoor seating areas but also create a more comfortable and appealing street presence, inviting customers to gather outside during various weather conditions.
