Southwark (Parliament Politics Magazine) – A man in his 20s is fighting for his life after falling from the third floor of a building in Southwark, emergency services confirmed.

On September 14, at 3.45 a.m., officers were called to Camberwell aRoad in reference to a man threatening a woman with a knife.

A man fell from a third-floor window while Southwark police were in the property’s common room.

With potentially fatal injuries, the man was brought to the hospital and is still there.

His family members are aware.

The incident resulted in no arrests and no additional injuries.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:

“Police were called to a residential address on Camberwell Road, Southwark, at 3.45am on Sunday (September 14) to reports of a man who had threatened a woman with a knife.

Officers attended and, while they were in the communal area of the property, a man in his 20s fell from a third-floor window.

Officers were not present in the same room when he fell. Officers administered first aid and CPR, and the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance were called and attended.

The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains. His next of kin are aware.

No-one else were injured during the incident. There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.”

How are local emergency services responding and investigating?

Firstly emergency services were called to the scene in Southwark after a man in his 20s fell from the third floor of a building. Paramedics arrived at the scene in a short time and provided life-support medical treatment before transporting him to hospital where he now has been reported as critically injured.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) and London Fire Brigade (LFB) attended the scene to assist with safety concerns and provide medical assistance. 

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has commenced an investigation into the man’s fall. Officers are interviewing potential witnesses and are reviewing any CCTV capture from properties in the vicinity of the fall as well as gathering further forensic evidence to assist in determining whether the fall was accidental or related to an offence.
