How can community groups partner with Culturally Mindful residencies?
Community groups can provide safe environments and opportunities for people from the Global Majority as artists to observe, get involved and help create arts-based health and wellbeing programmes that respond to the needs of communities.
Groups work with resident artists to co-create arts-based (inclusive and accessible) creative health interventions for mental health, trauma recovery and helping people connect socially. They work with underserved populations including disabled adults, young people, carers, and people affected by ill health.
Groups involved benefit from being trained in trauma informed practice for mental health as a part of the programme and provide feedback through reflection groups and supervision, while remaining committed to collaboration and cultural humility.
