Waltham Forest (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Indie legend Tim Burgess thrilled 250 guests at Stow-Ho House’s third anniversary charity night in Waltham Forest with a “phenomenal” DJ performance.

Adelphi Music Factory and Hervé, the producer, DJ, and head of Cheap Thrills, performed further sets during the evening.

The regular event’s goal is to raise money for charity by bringing top-notch musical talent to East London. To support a close friend of Stow-Ho House, money was contributed to Astron Health cancer cell sequencing and War Child for the third birthday.

Locals have said that Stow-Ho House is “harder to get tickets for than Glastonbury.” In the past, the club night has featured unexpected appearances by well-known artists including Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, and Arctic Monkeys producer James Ford, in addition to disco enthusiast Greg Wilson, James Priestly of Secret Sundaze, and house music pioneer Lottie.

The event series, which began as a venue for local talent, has developed into a dependable mainstay of the Walthamstow nightclub scene.

The idea for Stow-Ho House came from music-loving Juliet and Sam, who met while waiting in line to pick up their children from the nursery. They immediately resolved to throw a party that they could walk to and that would end at a decent hour.

By getting well-known DJs through their connections in the music world, Juliet and Sam have been able to sell out successive evenings at Soho House, a premium members club. In light of the cost of living problem, one of the club night’s main goals is to raise as much money as possible for regional charities.

The dynamic combo has so far raised about £35,000 for local charities, such as Sound and Music, Eat or Heat, Waltham Forest Hub, and Success Charity.

How much money was raised and which charities will benefit?

The specific amount raised during the Stow-Ho House third anniversary charity night featuring Tim Burgess is unclear in the source material, but it is one of a series of charity club nights which historically raised thousands of pounds for both local and national endeavors.

Stow-Ho House, which was started by Juliet Cromwell and Sam Potts, is now a well-established charity music night in East London, securing top-tier music talent, and giving their proceeds to charities like War Child and Astron Health.

The 3rd anniversary event was well-received, with promoters labeling it a “floor-filler,” and “phenomenal,” marking another event in music and positive community engagement in Waltham Forest.
