Lewisham (Parliament Politics Magazine) – A 33-years-old man has been arrested in Scotland on suspicion of murder following a stabbing in Catford, Lewisham, last Wednesday, with police investigating the incident.

The man, who claimed to be 33, was taken into captivity in Scotland on Tuesday night, October 21, after a  visionary police  disquisition. He will be moved to Lewisham today.

Last Wednesday, October 15, 27- time-old Sanchini Thompson was fatally stabbed in Rushey Green.

Following reports of the stabbing, the London Fire Brigade and police arrived on the scene and treated Sanchinin for stab injuries.

After that, they took him to the hospital, where he tragically passed on the following day.

Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford, leading the investigation, said:

“Our dedicated team of detectives have worked tirelessly to locate and arrest this suspect. The work doesn’t stop here. We will continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Sanchini as we strive to secure justice for him and his loved ones.”

In a written statement Sanchini’s family said:

“In loving memory of a son, a father, and a cherished friend, our hearts are heavy as we remember a man whose presence brightened every room he entered.

At just 27, he was already a pillar of kindness, a devoted father to his beloved four-year-old daughter, and the heartbeat of his family. He gave freely of himself sharing his time, his laughter, to bring joy to others, always prioritising the happiness and well-being of those around him.

His generosity knew no bounds, and his compassion touched friends, neighbours, and strangers alike. Words cannot fully capture the depth of our gratitude for him and the impact of his kindness on our lives. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain with us in the love he shared and the memories we will carry forward.”

Are detectives seeking further witnesses or CCTV from the area?

Investigators probing the fatal pecking in Catford are seeking further substantiation and CCTV footage from the area. CCTV footage is a vital aspect of modern investigations, and police will regularly do an intelligence-led trawl of CCTV opportunities around the time and position of the incident.

Authorities typically would then seek the assistance of the public and appeal for persons within the vicinity to come forward with any recordings from personal CCTV, dash cams, and mobile footage, which might (or might not) contain relevant information. This trouble helps broaden the range of substantiation to support identification, detect implicit substantiations, and make the case.

The disquisition is ongoing, and as of now, authorities haven’t linked any motive or connection between the suspect arrested and the victim. The police are asking for substantiation and information to help with their disquisition.
