Greenwich (Parliament Politics Magazine) – A fire brigade confirms an unsafe building triggered the major fire that destroyed a Plumstead car workshop, raising concerns over safety in Greenwich.
Yesterday, December 4, at around six in the morning, about forty firefighters were dispatched to the burning building in Vicarage Park in Greenwich.
Before the fire was contained at approximately 8:15 p.m., they battled the flames for more than two hours.
But not before the workshop’s roof gave way, and according to LFB, the building was “destroyed.”
According to an investigation, the cause is “undetermined due to the unsafe structure of the building.”
As the flames illuminated the early morning darkness, several individualities posted images and videos of them on social media.
The incident was responded to by six fire engines from the fire stations in Plumstead, East Greenwich, Eltham, Erith, and Lee Green.
Two people escaped the building before firefighters arrived, and there were no injuries.
