KYIV (Parliament Politics Magazine) – The kindergarten is located in Stanytsia Luhanska, a small village on the frontlines of Ukraine’s conflict with separatists backed by Russia. According to Ukrainian military officials no one was injured.
Earlier on Thursday, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) reported “several shelling incidents along the line of contact in east Ukraine,” but did not provide further specifics.
On Thursday, Moscow vows to respond to Western security recommendations.
Sergei Lavrov, foreign minister of Russia, has stated that Moscow will respond on Western suggestions to Washington on European security later on Thursday.
Lavrov said Russia’s response would be released to the public in “a few hours” during a press conference with his Italian counterpart, Luigi Di Maio.
It is critical that relevant civil society organisations in the two nations are aware of [what is contained in the answer].
Russia is responding to the western papers on European security released on January 26th, which came after Moscow’s sweeping demands intensified the conflict last December. The Kremlin has demanded a veto over Ukraine’s Nato membership and the dismantling of the western military alliance in Eastern Europe. Moscow has previously chastised NATO and the United States for not publishing their replies in writing.Â
Meanwhile, Di Maio told the press that meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dymtro Kuleba convinced him that there was a possibility of a diplomatic solution.
Di Maio, according to the Italian news agency Ansa, said:
They could rely on Italy to seek a diplomatic solution because it has always been at the forefront of diplomatic efforts.
According to Reuters, the Kremlin expressed grave concern over the recent escalation of violence in eastern Ukraine and expressed confidence that the West will use its influence over Kyiv to prevent further escalation.
Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, accused Kyiv of “grave provocations” and said the Ukrainian military fired first.
According to the Russian news source Ria Novosti, Peskov claimed Moscow had long warned about the “excessive concentration of Ukrainian army personnel” near the line of contact.
Now it was seen that these awful provocations were taking place, and they heard claims from republic representatives who were self-proclaimed that there was a firefight on the line of contact, with the initial strike coming from Ukraine. This is quite concerning information. Russia is observing continuously.
According to Reuters, a senior government official of Ukraine said firing from rebel territory in the country’s east is “not typical” and “seems like a provocation.”
The Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which has been monitoring the Donbas conflict for years, reported “several shelling incidents” in eastern Ukraine earlier on Thursday.
