Ealing (Parliament Politics Magazine) – A new survey reveals that the regeneration of Acton Gardens estate in South Acton, Ealing, is delivering meaningful improvements to residents’ daily lives.
The study, which was commissioned by developers Vistry Group and L&Q, revealed elevated feelings of safety and wellbeing in addition to a robust and increasing sense of satisfaction.
Social Life, a specialized research center for community social life, conducted the study from 2023 to 2024.
Over 560 people who lived on the estate and in the neighboring areas were involved. On the property, Vistry and L&Q are constructing 3,463 residences.
The inclusion of green spaces, walking paths, and better transport accessibility supports sustainable, healthy lifestyles.
Fostering multi-generational, mixed-use neighborhoods encourages social connections and safety.
Compared to those still living on the older estate, Ealing residents of newly released homes report much higher levels of wellbeing, fewer worries about their safety, and a better view of their surroundings.
Additionally, they believed that having an active Community Board increased their power and sense of voice.
