LVIV, Ukraine (Parliament Politics Magazine) – According to the mayor of the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, several missiles struck and damaged a structure near the airport.
The aircraft repair complex was hit by cruise missiles launched from the Black Sea, according to Ukraine’s military, which was most likely Kh-555 weaponry launched from heavy bombers.
According to mayor Andriy Sadovy, the facility was not functioning at the time of the hit, and there were no injuries after at least 3 explosions.
An airstrike on the Yavoriv military facility in western Ukraine on Sunday is reported to have deployed equivalent long cruise missiles.
Air attack sirens sounded at 6.15 a.m. in Lviv, according to Sky’s Alistair Bunkall, and he observed 3 to 4 explosions 15 minutes later, just as the city started waking up and the curfew had been lifted.
Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, claimed Russian bombardment in the Podil area damaged a pre-school that was fortunately not inhabited at the time, and that the morning’s incident was just another example of the war being waged against people.
Other cities, he said, like as Chernihiv, Mariupol, and Kharkiv, were subjected to comparable Russian bombing in residential areas.
Russia’s defence department stated on Friday that rebels in eastern Ukraine were “tightening the noose” all around the Ukrainian city of Mariupol with the backing of Russian military troops, according to Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency.
Rescuers have started pulling survivors from the ruins of a theatre in the besieged city that was hit by a Russian aircraft – which Russia has denied targeting.
The word “children” was apparently highlighted in giant letters at the location prior to the strike, alerting warplanes to those inside. Up to 1,000 men, women, and children were assumed to have been hiding in the theatre’s basement area for protection after their homes were wrecked during the attack.
James Heappey, the UK’s Armed Forces Minister, told Sky News that the Russians’ “barbaric tactics” are causing alarm.
According to the latest briefing from the UK Ministry of Defence on the conflict in Ukraine, Russian troops have made slight progress this week.
“Putin cannot accept defeat,” former NATO Deputy Supreme Allied Commander General Sir Richard Shirreff told Sky News, adding that in typical KGB-style if he’s experiencing problems in one way, he may produce much bigger trouble in another.
