UK (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Crystal Palace agreed a £35m deal with Tottenham for footballer Brennan Johnson, with the winger yet to finalize his potential transfer.

As reported by Mark McAdam, Michael Bridge, and James Savundra of Sky Sports, Tottenham and Crystal Palace have agreed on a £35m fee for Brennan Johnson, with the player yet to finalize his future.

How will Tottenham replace Brennan Johnson if he moves to Palace?

According to reports, Bournemouth have also expressed interest in Brennan Johnson as a potential replacement for Antoine Semenyo, who is nearing a £65m switch to Manchester City.

Brennan Johnson joined Tottenham in 2023 from Nottingham Forest for £47.5m and finished last season as the club’s top scorer with 18 goals, including the Europa League final winner.

Under Thomas Frank, Johnson has featured in six Premier League starts this season, playing on both wings after Mohamed Kudus claimed his regular spot after a £55m move from West Ham.

Before Spurs’ New Year’s Day match at Brentford, Frank said he expects Johnson, 24, will feature at the Gtech Community Stadium, while refusing to comment on his long-term future.

He said,

“There are rumours out there. In general, I won’t comment on that, no matter if we want to sign or sell a player or get a staff member in or out. I have no interest in commenting either way.”

Frank added,

“He contributed to a very good and important win against Crystal Palace. He trained very well. I fully expect him to be available and able to play against Brentford.”

Johnson has featured in 20 matches across all competitions, adding to his total of 27 goals in 107 games for Tottenham.

Crystal Palace offloaded Eberechi Eze to Arsenal this summer and is without forward Ismaila Sarr, who is away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Which players are the Spurs targeting amid transfer speculation?

Spurs continue to search for a forward, originally targeting Semenyo before Man City and other clubs showed stronger interest.

Reports showed that Spurs were eyeing Man City winger Savinho this summer, but the Premier League side aims to retain the Brazilian after he signed a new contract.

Dejan Kulusevski has been out with a knee injury since May but is expected to operate on the right flank upon his return.

During Spurs’ victory at Selhurst Park, sporting director Fabio Paratici and CEO Vinai Vinkateshem were pictured together, amid rumours of a potential Fiorentina transfer. It also emerged that the Italian club is interested in him for a similar role, but Spurs have yet to receive an official approach.

Who could Roma sign from the Premier League?

Roma are looking for Premier League defenders as they hunt for a new centre-back, showing interest in Tottenham’s Dragusin and Chelsea’s Disasi.

Disasi will be available next month after featuring in Chelsea’s summer ‘bomb squad’, while Dragusin’s status at Spurs remains uncertain.

According to reports, Tottenham aim to strengthen their squad with another naturally left-sided defender, despite already having five options in the position.

Dragusin has recovered from a long-term injury and featured as a substitute during Spurs’ 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday, 28 December.

Disasi featured for Chelsea’s U21s but had not been included in the club’s first-team squad as of September.

What are Brennan Johnson’s top strikes for Tottenham?

Brennan Johnson added 18 goals and provided 13 assists in 81 appearances for Tottenham through the 2025/26 season.

He scored the winning goal for Tottenham in the 2025 UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United, securing a major trophy for the club.

In the 2024/25 season, Johnson led Tottenham in scoring with 18 goals in all competitions, highlighted by goals in seven straight matches.
