London (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Stephen Mangan, a 56-year-old British star, shared his favourite London spots, including Sam’s Café and The Lansdowne, and joined BGC Charity Day’s 20th anniversary, supporting HH Arts.
As My London reported, 56-year-old British star Stephen Mangan has shared some of his favourite local places and routines at BGC’s annual Charity Day. One of his favourite spots is Sam’s Café. He mentioned that the café is small and welcoming, designed to feel like a home away from home. It is located a short walk from Primrose Hill Park.
Stephan Mangan said:
“I have a lovely local café, Sam’s Café. Very simple menu, they do really well and I enjoy them a lot.”
The menu features breakfast items available all day, cakes, pastries, and takeaway sandwiches. There are vegetarian and vegan options. Mangan was keen to share a local favourite of his for Sunday meals, which is famous for its roasts.
What are Stephen Mangan’s favourite places and charities in London?
The Lansdowne pub has been an important fixture of Primrose Hill since 1992. Steven Mangan said the pub serves quality gastro pub food. The chefs cook with ingredients from award-winning suppliers.
Stephen said:
“The Lansdowne, again in Primrose Hill, is a great restaurant that does a fantastic Sunday roast.”
The menu combines traditional recipes with modern touches. Over the years, the pub has become more than just a place to eat and drink. It has grown into a social hub where the local community regularly gathers.
Stephen added:
“It’s not really the city, it’s not the countryside – it’s its own kind of space and you can run for miles.”
Stephen Mangan enjoys running as well and frequently uses London’s canals to get out of London. The day before joining BGC’s annual Charity Day on 11th September 2025, he ran for two and a half hours in the rain from North London to Limehouse and back.
Stephen said:
“It was magnificent. It’s great running in the rain, just give in to it.”
The charitable event commemorated its 20th anniversary and raised millions of dollars for causes in honour of colleagues lost in the 9/11 attacks. Mangan was among the notable figures who were participants in the event.
Stephen said:
“I’m here with the HH Arts charity, which helps marginalised children get access to the arts. It’s a cause close to my heart.”
