Lambeth (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Lambeth Council launches community consultations on Brockwell Park 2025 festivals, months after events were announced and some tickets already sold out.
The initial meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, February 17, 2025.
How is Lambeth Council ensuring safety at Brockwell Park events?

The purpose of these events is to give locals a platform to voice their thoughts.
For events held at Brockwell Park, Lambeth Council and event planners often put in place a number of safety precautions.
In order to protect the event space and guarantee visitor safety in muddy regions, specialized matting with a thin layer of woodchip is employed.
After the council certifies that the event space is safe for guests and safeguarded from harm, events are approved.
The expense of any necessary park repairs must be covered by the event planners.
In a post on their Love Lambeth site, the council said:
Lambeth Council has received an event application from Brockwell Live to run a series of events in Brockwell Park again this coming summer, and a series of community consultation events have been launched so local people can have their say.
The application proposes an exciting series of festivals at the park in late May and early June, and if approved could help ensure the council can keep the much-loved Lambeth Country Show going due to potential savings that could be achieved, cutting the cost from £1 million to an estimated £300,000.
The proposal would also deliver the free Brockwell Bounce community festival and see Brockwell Live taking responsibility for the facilities, planning and post event clean-up.
The proposed events series would be completed before the school summer holidays to ensure the whole of Brockwell Park is open for our communities.
Cllr Donatus Anyanwu, Lambeth’s Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, said:
“The proposed events would give our younger people fun and culturally rich events, as well as potentially help cross fund south London’s flagship free community festival, the Lambeth Country Show.
Our events programme is a big draw, increasing footfall to the area and potentially providing a big boost to local businesses at a time when high streets have struggled, especially smaller traders.”
