London (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Police are searching for a driver who fled after crashing on the M25 near Heathrow between J13 and J14 in London. Surrey Police closed the road 90 minutes; no injuries reported.

As My London News reported, police are searching for a driver who fled after a crash on the M25 near Heathrow Airport on Monday night, September 23, 2025. The vehicle was found shortly after 7pm, on the clockwise side between Junction 13 at Staines and Junction 14 for Heathrow.

Why did a driver flee after crashing on the M25 near Heathrow?

Officers said the car struck the central barrier and was left badly damaged. When they reached the scene, the driver was no longer inside. Surrey Police confirmed that minutes earlier officers had tried to stop the vehicle during a pursuit but lost sight of it.

No passengers were travelling in the car, and no other motorists were injured in the incident. Emergency services secured the stretch of motorway, removed the vehicle and worked to ease traffic queues.

Police said an investigation is under way to establish how the chase unfolded and why the driver chose to run. No arrest has been made, and the person remains missing. Officers are now asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the M25 at that time to contact them as inquiries continue.

A section of the M25 was shut for around 90 minutes on Monday night, Sep 23, 2025, while police carried out enquiries after a crash near Heathrow. The closure, combined with an oil spill on the road surface, led to about a mile of tailbacks.

In August 2025, a crash on the M53 near Ellesmere Port involved 3 vehicles, after which one of the drivers left the scene. Instead of remaining with the wrecked car, the person departed in another vehicle. Emergency crews confirmed that no one sustained serious injuries but closed a lane while they dealt with the aftermath.
