For an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Dua Lipa went for an all-out throwback look. Ms. Lipa, in all of her sun-soaked glory, posed in a pink and red mini corset dress by Moschino. Leaning into the flirty tones, she opted for a pair of knee-high heeled boots by the label Paris Texas. And to further drive that bombshell outfit home? She accessorized her flip-tastic, volume-minded hairdo with two hair clips.
So was the outfit ’60s? Or did it feel a bit ’90s? It actually felt like a little of both. In fact, Lipa’s outfit recalled the attire of Lady Miss Kier from the ’90s house group Deee-Lite, which was responsible for the perpetual hit “Groove Is in the Heart.” Kier’s funky and can’t-miss-it aesthetic was often grounded in a retro flair, complete with psychedelic graphic bodysuits and dresses, often paired with kicky go-go boots. Aside from this look, Lipa and Kier have something else in common: They both have some stellar bops.
