Ealing (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Wayne Broadhurst, 49-years-old, an Ealing bin man, was stabbed Monday evening in Uxbridge, sparking shock over the violent killing of a waste‑services employee.
Following allegations that three persons had been stabbed, police and paramedics were rushed to Midhurst Gardens at approximately 5 p.m. on Monday, October 27, and Wayne Broadhurst, 49, passed away at the site.
The company’s managing director, Katarina Pohancenikova, said in a statement that the crew was “devastated” by his passing.
“We are very sorry to confirm that one of Greener Ealing’s employees, Wayne Broadhurst, died following the tragic incident that took place in Uxbridge on Monday evening. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Wayne’s family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.
This is a devastating loss. Wayne was a well-respected and dedicated member of our team who made a real contribution to the work we do and to the residents we serve. We ask for the privacy of Wayne’s loved ones to be respected as they come to terms with this appalling news.”
Prior to being transported to the hospital, two further victims, a 14-year-old child and a 45-year-old man, received treatment for stab wounds.
While the boy’s injuries are neither life-threatening nor life-altering, the man’s injuries are defined as life-altering but not life-threatening.
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time,”
she said.
“Detectives are working intensely to piece together the circumstances of this incident.”
Ealing Uxbridge police chief superintendent Jill Horsfall called the shooting “a shocking and senseless act of violence.”
