Ealing (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Ealing’s University of West London is launching courses for Feltham residents through a partnership with Hounslow aimed at boosting skills and training.

The Ealing borough aims to increase training access and get residents ready for new employment related to the revitalization of the area.

UWL will offer two 14-week “micro-credential” courses at Feltham Library starting in February 2026: an Introduction to Business course and an Introduction to Podcasting course. Adult residents who wish to retrain, upskill, or try out university-level coursework before committing to a longer certification will be the target audience for the weekly three-hour evening sessions.

According to UWL, students who successfully finish the courses will be awarded 20 credits that they can use for further education. The initiative is a component of a longer-term collaboration between UWL and the London Borough of Hounslow. According to the partners, it will promote employability and boost local economic growth.

Professor Peter John, UWL’s vice-chancellor and president, said:

“Our ongoing initiative in Feltham is designed to strengthen education and skills development across the community. By offering accessible, high-quality learning in partnership with the London Borough of Hounslow, we are helping residents take meaningful steps towards further study, new career routes and long-term economic opportunity.”
