Haringey (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Students across Haringey celebrated their exam results, marking achievements and preparing for university, apprenticeships, and future careers.

Their perseverance and accomplishments are evidence of the skill and tenacity that flourish in our community.

As a council, they are still dedicated to helping all young people all year long, not only during the school year.

For this reason, they have invested heavily in programs that offer enjoyment, enrichment, and crucial assistance throughout the school break.

They have distributed more than £500,000 to 26 local providers that conduct a variety of activities around Haringey under the Summer Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) initiative. Every day, this financing sustains about 1,175 spaces.

During the vacation, the programs make sure that kids and teens have access to activities that are safe, interesting, and healthy.

The bright, aspirational, and promising youth of Haringey embody the best qualities of their borough. They are honored to contribute to helping kids set solid foundations for their futures since they deserve every chance to succeed.

How will local colleges support students who chose apprenticeships over university?

Local colleges are on a mission to support those students who prefer an apprenticeship rather than going to university by providing them with custom resources and programmes to ensure their success in work-based learning.

Providing careers advice and apprenticeship specific advice to help students navigate routes that suit their strengths and personal career interests. Providing education that combined vocational study with an element of on-the-job training to develop skills required in that industry.

Working with the local employers and business community to provide apprenticeship placement and opportunities for work experience and mentoring. Supporting students through the application process for apprenticeships and give pastoral support throughout the length of their apprenticeships, helping them to balance personal training to on-the-job duties.
