Hounslow (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Hounslow Council has extended the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme for three years, ensuring continued support for children and families.

The government has verified further than £600 million in backing for the HAF Programme over the coming three financial times (starting in 2026/27), which equates to just over £200 million annually, as part of its launch in Life charge.

Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills and Employment at Hounslow Council, said: “We are thrilled by the government’s commitment to continued funding for the HAF programme. This multi-year settlement will allow us to plan more strategically, strengthen local partnerships, and deliver even greater support for families in Hounslow. We’ve seen first-hand how impactful these programmes are in improving outcomes for children and young people.

This allows us to continue our work alongside devoted original providers, staff and community mates to deliver high- quality, inclusive and engaging conditioning for children across the city. ”

The HAF Program supports children and youths’ health, good, and readiness for literacy by giving them access to wholesome meals and perfecting conditioning during the academy break.

Over 2,800 children shared in conditioning during the summer of 2025 (25 had special requirements); 99 of parents reported that HAF had bettered their child’s physical exertion, and 98 reported that HAF had bettered their child’s good during the summer.

At their HAF camp, more than 90% of kids reported making new friends.

One parent commented: “It’s amazing and so beneficial for my children. They are safe, happy, well looked after and get to take part in amazing activities and have new experiences that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to have access to.’”

Which Hounslow providers will run HAF activities next year?

The specific Hounslow providers set to run the Holiday Conditioning and Food( HAF) Programme conditioning coming time are named through an operation process open to a wide range of organisations including original seminaries, voluntary and community groups, faith groups, and being vacation and sports club providers. Providers must meet the obligatory frame norms set by Hounslow Council and the Department for Education.

Providers must demonstrate substantiation of outreach, offer inclusive conditioning especially for children progressing 12- 16, and give integrated services where eligible and paying families attend together.

Hounslow’s Family Service Directory will publish the guidance and provider details ahead of the coming delivery period. Interested organisations are encouraged to apply when the operation window opens to come to a HAF provider.
