Israel has announced the evacuation of 68 sick and injured children from Gaza to Egypt, accompanied by their caregivers. This operation was facilitated through the Israel-controlled Kerem Shalom crossing.
According to the Israeli military body responsible for Palestinian civilian affairs, known as COGAT, the evacuations were carried out in collaboration with officials from the United States and Egypt, as well as members of the international community. In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), COGAT emphasized that this operation is part of ongoing efforts since the onset of the conflict.
Earlier reports had indicated that 21 critically ill children were evacuated, marking the first medical evacuation through the Kerem Shalom crossing since the Rafah crossing was closed last month.
