King Charles III was admitted to a London hospital on Friday for a scheduled procedure to address an enlarged prostate, Buckingham Palace confirmed. The 75-year-old monarch underwent the “corrective procedure,” which was planned in advance.
Buckingham Palace reassured the public that the king’s condition is benign and expressed gratitude for the well-wishes received over the past week. Queen Camilla, who visited King Charles at the private hospital in West London, reported that he is “doing well” following the procedure.
This health update follows an earlier announcement from the palace, which disclosed that the king had been diagnosed with an enlarged prostate during a routine check-up. The palace has not specified the length of the king’s hospital stay but confirmed that his upcoming public engagements have been postponed to allow time for recovery.
Kate, the Princess of Wales, is also being treated at the same hospital after undergoing abdominal surgery last week. It has been reported that King Charles visited her before his own procedure.
King Charles had previously traveled to his private Sandringham estate to prepare for the procedure before returning to London for treatment. The condition, which is common in men over 50, affects urination and was diagnosed following the king’s recent symptoms and medical evaluation.
