Greenwich (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Greenwich Council has validated the latest planning applications, including home extensions, tree works, and submissions to discharge planning conditions.

The applications include a number of suggestions for home renovations and tree care, as well as a noteworthy request to remove a native oak tree that was self-planted in Blackheath.

Kidbrooke, London, SE3 0PD, 32 Kidbrooke Gardens. To preserve health and safety, the lowest limb of the east side lime tree should be removed. Ref. No: 25/1014/TC

21 Charlton Road, London SE3 7EU. A pollarded lime tree in the front garden has to be felled because it is intruding on the raised area and pavement. Reference Number: 25/0992/TC

In late 2024, the proposals were subjected to a thorough public consultation, and the suggestions received were integrated into updated blueprints. Local amenity groups and statutory agencies were also consulted.

The South East London Chamber of Commerce and the Greenwich Society both endorsed the project, pointing out that it respects tradition while embracing contemporary requirements.

On March 11, 2025, the proposals were unanimously accepted by the Royal Borough of Greenwich Planning Board.
