Man fights for life after stabbing on London's Westminster Bridge

London (Parliament Politics Magazine) – A man is critically injured for his life after a stabbing incident on Westminster Bridge, with three individuals arrested. The incident is not terror-related, and the bridge remains closed for investigation. 

According to the Metropolitan Police, a man is in critical condition after he met a stabbing incident on Westminister Bridge. 

Police were called for further investigation at 10:45 am on Sunday after reports of a fight on Westminster Bridge in central London

The MET Police, London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance arrived at the scene to rescue a man with stab injuries. 

Police officers reported that the injured man had been taken to the hospital in serious condition. 

Three individuals have been arrested on charges of attempted murder, while a fourth has been taken into custody on suspicion of affray. 

Two of the suspects faced facial injuries and have been hospitalized.

A road closure is in place on Westminster Bridge. 

Forces have stated the incident is not being treated as terror-related. 

One user on X posted,

“Westminster Bridge closed in both directions. Hundreds of police at the scene with the bridge cordoned off. What’s going on?”

The police said in a statement, “Officers are urging anyone with CCTV, mobile phone footage, or dashcam footage that may assist the investigation to come forward.”

The forces stated,

“particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident.”

Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to call police at 101, citing CAD 2468/24NOV, or to reach out to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or Crimestoppers-uk.org.

The London Ambulance Service spokesperson said,

“We were called today (Sunday) at 10.46 am to reports of an incident on Westminster Bridge, SW1.”

“We sent a number of resources including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and London’s air ambulance. We treated a man at the scene before taking him to hospital.”

7 years ago in March 2017, Khalid Masood carried out a terror attack by driving a car into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge and Bridge Street, injuring over 50 people, including four casualties, before he killed a police officer at the Palace of Westminster. 

Later Khalid was shot by an armed police officer and died at the scene.
