London (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Dominic Raab is a British politician and is now serving as Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He is the Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor since 2021. Moreover, he has been a Member of Parliament (MP) for Esher and Walton. Dominic Rennie Raab was born on February 25th, 1974 in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom. His parents Jean Raab and Peter Raab were clothes buyers and food managers. Dominic’s family moved to Britain when he was six years old. He grew up in Buckinghamshire but his father died when he was only 12.
Dominic went to Dr. Challoner’s Grammar School while he complete his law degree from Lady Margaret Hall. He spent a lot of time practicing Karate while he was studying at Oxford. Before completing his Master of Laws degree he won a Clive Parry Prize for International Law.
Career
Dominic Raab got the chance to join the Foreign office in 2000. When he returned to London he gave a lot of suggestions for Arab–the Israeli conflict. During the crisis, he defended Tony Blair against a subpoena from former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic. He was appointed as the Chief of Staff Shadow Home Secretary David Davis from 2006 to 2010. Later worked as Shadow Secretary of State for Justice Dominic Grieve.

When Theresa May became the prime Minister Raab went back into opposition. After the presidential elections in 2017, he became the Minister of State for Courts and Justice. In 2018, he was promoted to the role of Minister of State for Housing and Planning.
