Bromley (Parliament Politics Magazine) – South East London ICB has named One Bromley Partnership as the new health service integrator for Bromley, hosted by King’s College Hospital NHS Trust.

The foundation trust will host the partnership, which will be established as a neighbourhood provider group with members from One Bromley Executive and the place-based partnership.

According to the ICB, the organizations who supply the fundamental framework for integrated neighborhood working as it evolves will be the integrators.

After four appointments earlier this year, this is the fifth “integrator” to be appointed throughout the ICB’s six boroughs.

The London ICBs’ neighbourhood plan, released in May, initially listed these organizations. In order to “host the identified integration functions required to enable primary community, mental health, and other partners to work together effectively at neighbourhood level,” each location would have to choose an integrator organization from inside.

According to the South East London ICB, location-based collaborations will continue to play “significant roles” in achieving local goals, and these integrators won’t take their place.

In order to create “cohesive, proactive, targeted, and sustainable services that place individuals and communities at the center,” the integrators would be “critical,” it was noted.

Andrew Bland, chief executive officer for NHS South East London, said:

We are making great strides towards delivering neighbourhood health services that prioritise local communities.

With integrators now in place across five of our six boroughs, I am proud to say we are close to completing the local infrastructure needed to support neighbourhood working across south east London, with Greenwich due to follow suit imminently.’

The other approved integrators in the ICB are:

  • Southwark: A partnership between GSTT and GP federations: Improving Health Ltd and Quay Health Solutions. GSTT will host the arrangement.
  • Bexley: The borough’s health and care partnership between the London Borough of Bexley, Bexley Health Neighbourhood CiC, Primary Care Networks, and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. Oxleas will host the arrangement.
  • Lambeth: A partnership between Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and Lambeth General Practice Provider Alliance. GSTT will host the arrangement.
  • Lewisham: A partnership between the London Borough of Lewisham, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, primary care, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the voluntary and community sector. Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust will host the arrangement.

Dr Angela Bhan, Bromley place board director, said:

In Bromley, initiatives like BCHIP are already demonstrating the power of bringing services closer to home and embracing a community-centric neighbourhood working model. With our borough’s integrator now confirmed, we can expand these efforts, enabling communities to thrive and access the care they need more conveniently.’

Professor Clive Kay, chief executive of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, added:

‘We are pleased to support this important development, which builds on our existing partnership with One Bromley. As the host organisation, we will help support effective neighbourhood health services, which offer real benefits for patients, as well as local healthcare providers.’

How was One Bromley Partnership selected as the neighbourhood integrator?

Because of One Bromley Partnership’s proven track record of integrated neighborhood working—most notably its successful Bromley Child Health Integrated Partnership (BCHIP) initiative, which was established in 2024—the SEL ICB accepted the company’s nomination.

The BCHIP program showed quantifiable advantages in lowering hospitalization rates, expediting care delivery, and coordinating child health services closer to home.

In order to ensure that services are suited to the needs of the local community and function seamlessly across organizational boundaries, the integrator role focuses on providing the essential infrastructure to support integrated neighborhood health teams. One Bromley Partnership received recognition for its community-focused approach and ongoing partnerships with Bromley’s NHS providers, social services, primary care networks, and nonprofit organizations.
