UK (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Nigel Farage has joined Direct Bullion as a brand ambassador, endorsing gold as an investment in a podcast. Still, it has not yet declared his new paid role in the MP’s register.
Last month, he along with fellow brand ambassador Rob Moore appeared on a sponsored podcast and promoted gold investment.
During the November broadcast, Mr Farage stated, “I’ve been working for Direct Bullion… promoting, advertising, and educating for them, so you know I have an interest in this.”
He said, “But I’m not doing it out of nothing … I’ve been doing this now with them for getting on for a year, but actually for the last five years I’ve been involved with financial markets newsletters etc, making this argument that you should give gold a serious thought and it is open and accessible to you.”
During the episode, Mr Farage described the benefits of investing in gold because it is free from capital gains tax and the option to include it in pension pots. He argued numerous storage options like keeping it in a safe, under the bed or some paid space.
Direct Bullion also shared a clip of the podcast on its YouTube channel.
Reform UK leader’s new position has not been included in the MP’s Register of Interests, published on December 9, but it is expected to be added to the list soon.
As per parliamentary guidelines, MPs must reveal all income over £300 £300 within 28 days of payment.
When inquired from Mr Farage’s spokesperson about the declaration of the new role, his spokesperson stated, “Nigel will follow the rules for declarations as usual.”
By promoting gold as a brand ambassador, Farage is expected to reinforce his ranking as one of the highest-paid MPs, with £177,000 received from GB News for his presenting role since July. He also earns significant income through his social media activities on Facebook, X, and YouTube.
In July, Farage visited the US on a trip paid for by donor Christopher Harborne, which was worth £32,000. Later, in October, he received £40,000 for being a speaker at a Nomad Capitalist event in Arizona.
Earlier this year, Nigel recorded paid promotional videos for Direct Bullion, including one on 24 July. He also talked about his work with the firm on the Triggernometry podcast in August.
Although Mr Farage started his unpaid role as chair of Action on World Health in May, he didn’t register until November.
Earlier this month, Nigel Farage and his party treasurer met for the first time with Elon Musk at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. After this meeting, rumours came that Musk was considering a donation of £78 million to the Reform UK party.
Tories leader Kemi Badenoch has accused Nigel Farage and called him a “fakery” after Reform UK’s claim of surpassing the Conservatives in membership numbers.
In response he said he is willing to have a company audit for Reform UK’s membership numbers, but only if the opposite party allowed a similar process.
While the digital rivalry continued between both MPs, Farage posted a response on X, stating that he understands social media well and has 5.4 million followers, while Kemi has 320,000.
