Croydon (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Southern Rail has cancelled trains at East Croydon and Crystal Palace this weekend, with services replaced by buses due to planned engineering works.

The modifications, which will impact trains on Saturday and Sunday (June 14 to June 15), are the result of engineering work.

To help you plan your trip this weekend, we have streamlined and clarified the specifics.

June 14 and June 15, Saturday and Sunday:

All lines via Sydenham are being closed while engineering work is done between London Blackfriars and East Croydon or Crystal Palace.

Throughout the weekend, there will be no trains between London Bridge and either East Croydon or Crystal Palace via Sydenham.

There will be replacement buses between Crystal Palace, New Cross Gate, and London Bridge.

The following services will operate according to a revised schedule:

Peckham Rye will be used as a detour for trains traveling between London Bridge and Caterham.

There will only be trains between Crystal Palace and London Victoria and London Bridge.

trains that run between Sutton or Epsom Downs and London Victoria.

Trains will only run between Clapham Junction and Watford Junction on Saturdays between East Croydon and Watford Junction.

Only trains between East Croydon and Uckfield will run between London Bridge and Uckfield.

There won’t be any trains between Epsom and London Bridge.

Some lines will be closed on Sunday due to engineering work between East Croydon and Purley.

Between East Croydon, Purley, Caterham, and Tattenham Corner, buses will take the place of trains until 8.30am.

How will the replacement bus services affect my travel plans today?

Your trip will take longer than normal compared to taking the train because replacement buses travel on roads and are impacted by traffic and traffic signals. You should give yourself more time to travel.

Although not precisely at the rail stations, replacement buses may pull up to authorized bus stops close by. Particularly at stations that are quieter, there can be less personnel support at certain stops.

You won’t need to purchase a new ticket because the replacement bus will accept your current rail ticket.

You are not allowed to bring non-folding bicycles on replacement buses, and they might not have amenities like restrooms or food. Assistance dogs are permitted.

Buses may be packed during rush hour, and delays may happen, particularly if many services are interrupted at once.
