Tributes to her late majesty the Queen, by Baroness McIntosh

London, (Parliament Politics Magazine)- The Royal Family mourn the loss of a Mother, Grandmother and a Great Grandmother .

We mourn the loss of a much-loved Monarch.

Our thoughts are with her family and indeed, all her loyal staff in the Royal Household as they bid their final farewell

In one word, her late Majesty led by example.

To me and generations of women she has been a shining example of devotion, duty and service.

I have been proud to take the oath of allegiance to the Queen in three separate institutions, the Faculty of Advocates

the House of Commons

And the House of Lords

Demonstrating the breadth of influence and leadership Her late Majesty represented in our everyday lives

We welcomed Her late Majesty on many occasions to North Yorkshire, most notably to the Great Yorkshire Show and one year only, Royal Ascot at York, reflecting her interest and passion for the Countryside and horses

I am proud of my Danish heritage and the special closeness between the two countries of the UK and Denmark, marked by the fact that Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark attended the memorial service for the Duke of Edinburgh and indeed, interrupted her own Golden Jubilee celebrations this year in respect for the passing of Her late Majesty.

How poignant that Dronning Margethe is now the longest serving reigning monarch

There is a Danish prayer my mother taught me which ends with the words:-

Guds engel os bevare

May God’s angels protect Her late Majesty

May her eternal light shine on in her family and her immediate successor King Charles III.

Long may he reign.
