Croydon (Parliament Politics Magazine) – White Hut Studios launches the Elevate programme in Croydon, providing young musicians with opportunities to develop skills and kick-start their music careers.
The White Hut Elevate program, which aims to develop up-and-coming talent, targets Croydon residents between the ages of 18 and 30 who encounter major obstacles while trying to break into the music business.
Participants will receive professional mentoring throughout the program, which will provide useful advice and insights.
Additionally, they will have the chance to record three original songs in a professional studio, giving them a portfolio that is ready for the market.
There are also a number of workshops available that address significant subjects including pitching, music rights, performance confidence, and mental health and wellness.
Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to network with professionals in the field and gain access to paid gigs, streaming revenue, and possible representation.
Silvastone, the founder of White Hut Studios, is in charge of the project, which is supported by Arts Council England.
The MOBO award nominee and winner of the 2024 Diversity Champion at the Association of Independent Music Awards said:
“Despite the fact Croydon talent has contributed so much to the music world, I’ve heard from so many young people that there just isn’t the resources or support to help them navigate the industry.
Problems like social inequality, economic hardship and a lack of access to arts education mean talented young people are not realising their full potential – creatives are suffering and the music industry is lacking diversity as a result.
Having faced significant barriers to entering the music industry myself, I believe in the importance of projects like White Hut Elevate.”
Local musicians with one to two years of performing or composition experience and a deep love of music are being sought after by White Hut Elevate.
Additionally, White Hut Elevate provides a free web platform for exhibiting live performances and recorded music. By reaching a larger audience and offering a permanent record of the artists’ work, this digital presence enhances live events.
A key part of White Hut Elevate’s goal to empower young musicians by giving them exposure to the music industry and real-world experience is the incorporation of live performance possibilities.
They ought to be committed to developing their musical careers and conquering obstacles.
The deadline to submit an application is April 21.
More details are available on the White Hut Studios website for those who are interested in applying.

How does White Hut elevate and integrate live performance opportunities in Croydon?
White Hut Elevate gives young musicians the opportunity to play live in a variety of locations. These gatherings are essential for networking in the music industry, obtaining stage experience, and boosting confidence.
The program helps up-and-coming artists reach new audiences by providing live performance chances. Increased notoriety, possible partnerships, and career progress are all possible outcomes of this exposure.
Participants frequently get comments from professionals in the sector as part of the live performance component. They improve their performances and gain a more polished stage appearance thanks to this mentoring.
Additionally, live performances encourage community involvement by giving locals a chance to support up-and-coming musicians and engage with the music scene. The long-term viability of regional arts projects depends on this community backing.
