Russia wages War against Ukraine this morning

A Russian made T-72 tank prepares to move out for an engagement in a mock battle during ASCIET (All Service Combat Identification Evaluation Test) training; held at the US Army's Training and Support Center, Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Breaking: Russia has started full scale war against Ukraine. The capital Kiev witnessed some bombings meanwhile major cities in the country were attacked.

As the world waits for the latest news from Ukraine, President Putin has begun the war against the Ukrainian military. The attack, which began early this morning, is described by the U.N. as a response to the ongoing violence in the country. In a televised speech, Putin claimed that the attack was needed to protect civilians in eastern Ukraine. The United States and its allies had warned that the move was likely to be a pretext for an invasion and said that they would hold Russia responsible if they did so.

The Russian military is now encroaching into eastern Ukraine. U.S. and European officials believe that Russia is attempting to take over the country’s capital, Kyiv. The U.S. and NATO have yet to say whether they’ll send troops to Kyiv, but have made it clear that they intend to supply the Ukrainians with weapons. And as a result, there’s no way to tell if this attack will result in a more stable Ukrainian economy.

Speaking in the early hours Moscow time, the Russian president said his country did not plan to occupy Ukraine – but added Moscow’s response would be “instant” if anyone tried to stop its action.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that martial law was being imposed across Ukraine.

Despite the warnings of President Obama, the Russian military began shelling Ukrainian units in the east. The Ukrainian military denied reports that they had landed in Odessa. Several airfields and military depots were hit by missiles. Meanwhile, the United States and the West has started  imposing sanctions on Russia.

The attack also sparked an international diplomatic crisis, as President Biden has pledged to hold Russia accountable. And other world leaders condemned the Russian actions.

The US has condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and pledged to hold Moscow accountable for any violations. The President has also pledged to hold Moscow accountable for any violation of international law. And if the Russians do attack Ukraine, it will be up to the world to do something about it. Even if it isn’t in our best interests, we will still have to stand up for our democracy. That’s why the biden-Putin meeting is important to our future.

President Putin’s move to declare the republics of Ukraine will be followed by economic sanctions. The Western powers have stepped up financial support for the Ukrainian government. However, the costs of a Russian invasion will likely be huge for Ukraine. Nonetheless, if the Western powers decide to attack the Ukrainians, the U.S. is expected to follow suit. There are other consequences to this move, and they can be disastrous for the country.
