These Talents That Morocco Now Has The Means To Attract

Regragui and his scouts certainly have the many offensive nuggets that evolve in Europe. When the time comes, they will seduce them.

The Atlas Lions course in Qatar will have a lot of positive benefits. It’s a great advertising for the Moroccan selection, which is gaining attractiveness. Who would not dream of being part of a team capable of climbing 4th in the world?

Talents Born in Europe

This is above all the case for the many talents born in Europe, and who still hesitate to choose their sporting nationality. These boys will have one more argument, and especially weight, to choose the country of their parents. It will not only be the choice of the heart, but also that of success, reason, pure sporting interest.

Regragui and his scouts certainly have these nuggets in the interwar period, and who still hesitate. When the time comes, they will seduce them.

We think of a Sofiane Diop, for example. 22 years on the clock, former Monaco, now in Nice. It is a kind of Belhanda in younger, with the same physical potential and a technique above the average. It has already been approached in the past, without success. But it remains selectable. So who knows, tomorrow, what can happen?

We also think of two boys, both attackers who are not yet 20 years old: Mohamed Ali Cho and Eliesse Ben Seghir. Cho will soon blow his 19th candle. He plays Real Sociedad in Spain, after a visit to Angers and a pre-training at PSG and Everton. He is a very promising player of the future, who can opt for France, England or Morocco.

Ben Seghir is a small phenomenon. Barely 17 years old. He has just made his debut, and not anywhere: in Monaco, known for having revealed early talents, the most famous of which remains Mbappé. Like his prestigious elder, Ben Seghir immediately imposed himself in a very competitive environment, relegating a confirmed talent on the bench like Ben Yedder. Which makes him already a very monitored element.

These three profiles are representative of the extraordinary pool which can exist in Europe (France, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands, in particular). Young and promising, most of these talents have an offensive temperament. What is good, Regragui being primarily in search of offensive reinforcements, environments or attackers.

All this gives us a delightful perspective. If talent has always existed, opposite there are two parameters that have fundamentally changed.

The first brand change is that Moroccan football officials made the right decision to decree a kind of sporting “amnesty”. The one who says no to the Moroccan selection is not definitively dismissed. It will remain selectable. This policy of forgiveness and the open door has earned us the arrival of boys like Mining and especially Ezzalzouli, which was from the Qatari campaign.

Tomorrow, this policy can be worth high quality reinforcements.

The second change, of course, remains this magnificent World Cup concluded in 4th place. A young talent in Europe can only dream of being part of a selection of this level. If he has the chance to wear the Moroccan jersey, he will not only please his parents and the “Moroccan in him”, but he will offer himself a real accelerator for his club career.

A few years ago, that was not quite the case.
