Five departments are still on orange alert for snow and ice this Friday evening. Other departments will be placed on alert for wind on Saturday.
​Five departments in the south-east of France are still placed on orange alert this Friday evening and until Saturday morning for snow-ice, according to the latest Météo-France bulletin published at 10 p.m. These are: Ain, Isère, Loire, Savoie and Haute-Savoie. The Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Hautes-Alpes, which were on alert for rain-flooding, are no longer on alert this Friday evening.
Seven departments on orange alert on Saturday
Corsica-du-Sud and Haute-Corse will be placed on orange wind alert from Saturday at 6 a.m.
Météo France predicts “an episode of stormy wind” on the island, with gusts of around 120 to 150 km/h which will sweep through the inhabited areas of Balagne, the east of the island, and the lower and mid-mountain. At Caps Corse and Sagro, we will probably exceed 180 km/h”, notes the organization. The lull will occur on Saturday evening.
