What safety measures could prevent future fires like these in Fulham?
Make sure all floors have smoke and heat alarms, as well as important spaces like corridors and kitchens. Test them frequently, and swap out the batteries when necessary.
Eliminate fire dangers close to homes, such as dry foliage, combustible debris, and an abundance of weeds. Paints, oils, firewood, and other combustible materials should be kept in secure locations away from sources of ignite.
Cooking should never be done unsupervised, especially when deep-frying or using oil. Tea towels and other combustible materials should not be placed near stovetops, and grease accumulation should be cleaned often.
Keep combustible goods away from electrical outlets, avoid overloading outlets, and turn off kitchen appliances when not in use.
