Waltham Forest (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Two Wetherspoon pubs in Waltham Forest have been recognised in the Loo of the Year Awards 2025 for outstanding toilet quality, hygiene, and customer standards.

Inspectors have given a platinum plus rating to The King’s Ford on Chingford Mount Road and a platinum rating to The Walnut Tree on High Road in Leytonstone.

The awards are intended to draw attention to and raise the bar for “away from home” restroom facilities in the United Kingdom.

Inspectors for the Loo of the Year Awards visited thousands of restrooms at locations throughout the UK without warning in order to evaluate them.

Every toilet has a grade of bronze, silver, gold, platinum, platinum plus, or diamond; unsuitable toilets have no grading at all.

Numerous factors, such as accessibility, cleanliness, hand washing and drying equipment, overall Waltham Forest administration, and décor and upkeep, are used to evaluate the restrooms.

The King’s Ford manager, Matt Turner, said:

“We are delighted with the grading.  Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in excellent conditon at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors.”

The Loo of the Year Awards 2025 managing director, Becky Wall, said:

“The toilets at the two pubs have been designed and fitted out to a very high standard and are both clean and well maintained.

The pubs deserve their awards.”
