UK (Parliament Politics Magazine) – A 7ft 9in teen Olivier Rioux makes history as tallest player ever to score in college basketball, setting record that has stunned fans and analysts alike.

The Florida Gators defeated Saint Francis 102- 61 on Wednesday thanks to a late dive from Olivier Rioux.

When the 19- time-old Canadian made his debut last month, he became the altitudinous player to play on a collegiate bottom.

When he was 7 bases 5 elevation( 2.26 measures) altitudinous in 2021, Guinness World Records named him the altitudinous teen.

Although the center’s dive was his first, on November 21 he made a free gamble against Merrimack.

Rioux would be higher than any player formerly in the game if he were to reach the top position.

Victor Wembanyama, a 21- year-old French sensation who plays for the San Antonio Spurs, is the altitudinous player in the NBA at 7 bases 4 elevation( 2.24 measures).

Next over is 23- time-old Zach Edey of the Memphis Grizzlies, who stands 7 bases 3 elevation( 2.21 measures) altitudinous.

The NBA’s official website states that three additional players are 7 feet 2 inches (2.18 meters) tall.

They are the Portland Trail Blazers’ Donovan Clingan, 23, the Utah Jazz’s Walker Kessler, 24, and the Atlanta Hawks’ Kristaps Porzingis.

Manute Bol and Gheorghe Muresan, both 7 feet 7 inches (2.31 meters) tall, are the NBA’s tallest players in history.

While Muresan, often known as the Giant, played from 1991 to 2001, Bol played from 1985 to 1997.

When did Olivier Rioux make his college debut and record the basket?

Olivier Rioux made his council basketball debut on November 6, 2025, during Florida Gators’ 104- 64 palm over North Florida, entering in the closing minutes.

He recorded his first handbasket on December 17, 2025, in a 102- 61 palm over Saint Francis, executing an royal immerse as the altitudinous player( 7ft 9in) ever to score a field goal in council history.

After redshirting the 2024- 25 season, Rioux debuted last month with a tip- in answer, also added free throws before this emphatic dive, sparking Gators’ bench fests amid limited minutes.
