Acton children showcase art for Black History Month in Ealing

Ealing (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Children from Acton, Ealing, displayed creative artworks at a special Black History Month event hosted by Descendants to celebrate culture and heritage.

Margaret Noel, president of Descendants, asked Councillor Gary Malcolm, the leader of the Ealing Liberal Democrat, to help in judging the group’s children’s art competition, which was held at the Acton Gardens Community Centre in Ealing. 

The youtng actors put in a lot of trouble over the course of three days during the half- term week to produce a variety of vibrant and creative artworks. 

Ruben, age 11, Jeanae, age 9, and Omari, age 6, were the overall winners.

In honor of one of the kids who couldn’t make it, Councillor Malcolm displayed one of the winning artwork.

Additionally, during the event, participants viewed a Descendants-produced film on the 18th-century abolitionist Ottobah Cugoano.

Councillor Gary Malcolm said:

“Liberal Democrats have to applaud The Descendants for their non-stop work to help educate many children in the borough, help support children to be more creative and keep the kids having a fun time by playing sports.”

How can families buy or fundraise with the students’ artwork?

Fundraisers like “Art Cards by Kids” allow families to buy custom products featuring their child’s artwork, including art cards, pillars, mystifications, and beautifiers. Orders are placed online using unique pupil canons, with particulars packed directly to families or seminaries. 

Seminaries Constantly set up online galleries where families can view pupil artwork and buy cairn, making it easy to fundraise while celebrating creativity. Community art shows and events can give openings for families to buy original artworks or pupil- made crafts, with proceeds supporting the academy’s art programs. 

Some fundraisers involve selling products like ceramic coliseums, painted tote bags, or needle- felt bookmarks created by scholars, which can be vended at expositions or academy events. 

Children from Acton showed off their cultural bents at a special event organized by Descendants as part of Black History Month fests. Descendants is a charitable organisation based in Acton that encourages youthful people, primarily of African and Caribbean heritage, to develop pride in their capacities and knowledge of their history and strain. 

The event aimed to increase tone- confidence and celebrate positive achievements within the community through creative expression and recognition of part models.
