Arrest made in Hillingdon after Heathrow terminal 4 incident

Hillingdon (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Police arrested a man in Hillingdon after an incident at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 4. Investigations are ongoing into the security scare.

At approximately 5 p.m. yesterday, September 8, emergency personnel were contacted regarding a reported incident at the Hillingdon airport. 

The airport warned travelers not to go to the terminal while the situation was being handled, according to a post on X. 

Along with the London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service, specialist officers arrived on the site and searched the area.

After searching, Met cops found a canister of what they think is CS spray.

People within the airport are said to have reacted to this chemical.

After the alleged CS spray caused irritation, about 20 people went to paramedics.

Since then, it has been established that the spray did not result in any serious or life-altering damage.

A 57-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of making a public nuisance and possessing a weapon (CS spray). 

He is still being held by the police.

The incident is not considered to be connected to terrorism.

The inquiry is still ongoing.

What security measures are in place at Heathrow Terminal 4?

All travelers and their luggage will undergo security screening including X-ray screening of hold and carry-on luggage. Passengers undergo advanced body screening providing a safety check for potential contraband.

One of the best uses of facial recognition technology is in some of these areas thus identifying passengers faster and safer. There are also a variety of fire services, medical assistance points, and minimum risk exits that both travelers and employees can utilize as part of the airport’s safety protocols.
