Baroness Bakewell of Hardington Mandeville MBE is a Liberal Democrat member of the House of Lords, created a life peer in 2013. A long-standing local government figure, she led Somerset County Council from 2001 to 2007 and spent two decades working alongside the former Liberal Democrat leader Paddy Ashdown.
