In our recent survey examining the current state of the sector, an overwhelming 67% of participants expressed a desire for more training resources to enhance their work in creative health. Recognising this need, we aim to create a more collaborative environment for sharing and discovering training opportunities that can significantly benefit practitioners in this vital field.

The Need for a Centralised Resource

Although quality training exists in the sector, practitioners have faced challenges in locating these resources due to their scattered nature. Additionally, many in the creative health community have voiced concerns regarding the difficulties of marketing and outreach for training providers. This fragmentation hinders the collective growth and collaboration necessary for a thriving sector.

Introducing the Training Hub

With generous support from the Baring Foundation, CHWA is excited to unveil a new training hub designed to streamline access to training resources. This hub will serve as a comprehensive platform where practitioners can easily find relevant training opportunities, whether they are free or paid. Our aim is to foster a more inclusive environment where all training providers, regardless of their established networks, can contribute and promote their offerings.

Engaging the Community

While CHWA has been a valuable platform for disseminating information, our previous methods have been somewhat informal and reliant on pre-existing relationships. This training hub seeks to change that by encouraging new organizations to share their training programs and facilitating broader engagement from the community. We invite you to help us spread the word about this resource and reach out with feedback on how we can improve its functionality.

Continuous Improvement and Analysis

In the initial stages, we may encounter some teething issues as we further refine the hub. We have conducted testing with colleagues over the past few weeks, but there is always room for enhancement. Your input is crucial—let us know what adjustments would make this resource more effective for you. As the training hub matures, we will analyse the training landscape and identify any gaps in resources. This insight will empower us to create tailored training solutions that better meet the needs of the sector.

Conclusion

By fostering a collaborative training environment, we hope to elevate the standards and effectiveness of creative health practices. Together, we can ensure that all practitioners have access to the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in their work, ultimately enhancing the impact of creative health across communities. Please join us in embracing this new initiative and making the most of what the Creative Health Training Hub has to offer!
