Haringey (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Young people in Haringey gain skills and confidence through a five-week pizza-making programme at The Dusty Knuckle bakery, supporting brighter futures.
Over 10 sessions, participants acquired hands- on experience in hospitality- from food medication and health & safety to communication and client service- while enhancing their confidence and employment possibilities.
The training finished with a festivity event when scholars displayed their capacities to families, staff, youth justice mates, and original beaneries in Haringey.

This new generation of young people is prepared to succeed, erecting on the achievements of the former cohort. Six of the eleven scholars who finished the course last term either attained paid positions at The Fine Knuckle bakery or continued their education.
Others entered into paid training possibilities, with two sustaining long‑term employment following graduation. Every party endured a rise in confidence, provocation, and a clearer route towards their future.
The program, which is supported by Haringey Youth Justice Service and carried out in collaboration with The Fine Knuckle bakery, showcases the service’s inventiveness and originality.
The council’s larger thing of empowering Haringey’s youth by offering worthwhile openings that contribute to the creation of better, more promising futures is reflected in this cooperation.
How was the programme funded and what partners were involved in delivery?
Haringey Youth Justice Service, which provides the primary backing to support youthful people involved in youth justice systems.
The programme is delivered in collaboration with The Dusty Knuckle Bakery, which offers practical training, mentorship, and work experience openings to the youthful actors. Original stakeholders and community organisations join to enhance the support network, aiming to make employability chops, confidence, and pathways to careers in hospitality and food diligence.
This cooperative model combines public backing with private sector moxie to produce effective youth development and profitable additional enterprise. Funded by Haringey Youth Justice Service, the programme supports youth justice- involves young people toward employment, with a new cohort underway.
