How often are Harrow food premises re-inspected after poor scores?
High-risk businesses, businesses with an adverse letter grade (0, 1, or 2 in Food Hygiene Rating Scheme), or businesses that may pose public health risk — have more frequent inspections. Normally these inspections will happen every six months.
If a business receives a bad rating, the food safety officer will give advice on any urgent or major improvements needed and will set dates in consultation with the business for each it is to be completed. This is a discretionary process, which first takes into account how serious were the violations.
If a food business is re-inspected, it is usually unannounced. The purpose of enforcing compliance, and following which there may be other enforcement options open to resolve the poor rating.
