Harrow (Parliament Politics Magazine) – Harrow Mayor Anjana Patel switched on Pinner’s Christmas lights, officially opening the festive season and drawing residents to the community celebration.

The lights, which are supported each year by the Pinner Association, are an important feature of the annual calendar and once again drew a large crowd in Harrow.

This year’s switch-on featured not just carols performed by neighborhood children, but also a surprise. The Mayor introduced the association’s new seasonal song, ‘Christmas in Pinner’.

The song and a cheerful video from the event are now available on the association’s Instagram and Facebook sites, and have already received over 3,000 views.

Ed Badke wrote the lyrics, which he then placed to music using an AI software. After experimenting with several concepts and making changes, the final version was generated. Christina Fava, a fellow association member, produced the video.

The Pinner Association, a registered charity established in 1932, seeks to maintain and improve the quality of life in Pinner.

Its operations include supplying the yearly Christmas lights and High Street trees, as well as supporting local heritage, environmental, and community projects, preserving the village atmosphere, and promoting public interest initiatives.

How much money was raised and which charities benefited?

The Pinner Christmas lights event, officiated by Harrow Mayor Councillor Anjana Patel, raised roughly £12,500 for original charities through community donations, gleeful booths, rubbish, and auspices. finances primarily served the Mayor’s chosen charities VIA (a Harrow- grounded medicine and alcohol support service) and Samaritans( emotional extremity helpline), with fresh support directed to Pinner Village Foodbank and original youth programs abetting vulnerable families during the leaves.

Patel, a Conservative councillor for Belmont ward since 2017( preliminarily West Harrow 2002- 2010), focuses on community cohesion, environmental safety( e.g.,anti-fly-tipping juggernauts), and artistic events.

A grandmother and long- time Harrow occupant since 2000, Patel has held press places in community/ culture, children’s development, and terrain/ safety. The lights event exemplifies her efforts to celebrate heritage while erecting islands in a vibrant, multilateral area.
