Washington (Parliament Politics Magazine) – New emails suggest US President Donald Trump knew of convicted financier Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, raising pressure on the White House over Epstein files.
As reported by The Guardian, newly released emails on Wednesday suggest Donald Trump was aware of Jeffrey Epstein’s actions, with Epstein claiming “of course [Trump] knew about the girls,” prompting renewed calls for the White House to release related documents.
What did emails reveal about Donald Trump’s alleged knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes?
According to emails released by House Democrats, Jeffrey Epstein told a contact that Donald Trump “spent hours at my house.” The meetings reportedly took place in the company of one of Epstein’s sex-trafficking victims.
The memo refers to President Trump as “that dog that hasn’t barked.” It notes he had “never once been mentioned” in relation to the ongoing scandal during his second term.
In a separate message from April 2011, Epstein wrote to Donald Trump’s biographer, Michael Wolff, indicating that the president asked him to resign from Mar-a-Lago, his exclusive Florida club.
Epstein wrote,
“Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever…of course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop.”
He stated he was “never a member” and claimed that Trump “of course knew about the girls, as he asked Ghislaine to stop.”
Wolff reportedly wrote to Jeffrey Epstein in December 2015, discussing Donald Trump during his first presidential campaign.
According to the email, he said,
“I think you should let him hang himself. If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency.”
Wolf continued,
“You can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you, or, if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt. Of course, it is possible that, when asked, he’ll say Jeffrey is a great guy and has gotten a raw deal and is a victim of political correctness, which is to be outlawed in a Trump regime.”
Ghislaine Maxwell, a longtime associate and friend of Jeffrey Epstein, is serving a 20-year prison sentence after being convicted of sex trafficking, including recruiting girls for exploitation.
Epstein told Maxwell,
“I want you to realise that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump…[VICTIM] spent hours at my hours with him…he has never once been mentioned.”
President Donald Trump has repeatedly denied being aware of Jeffrey Epstein’s activities, which included supplying underage girls to wealthy associates. Epstein died by suicide in federal custody in 2019.
The White House faces Democratic allegations of covering up Donald Trump’s alleged involvement, with repeated calls for attorney Pam Bondi to release the so-called Epstein Files.
What did Democrats say about Donald Trump’s alleged knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s actions?
California Democrat Robert Garcia, the oversight committee’s ranking member, stated,
“The more Donald Trump tries to cover up the Epstein files, the more we uncover. These latest emails and correspondence raise glaring questions about what else the White House is hiding and the nature of the relationship between Epstein and the president.”
Democrats posted on social media,
“Oversight Dems have received new emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate that raise serious questions about Donald Trump and his knowledge of Epstein’s horrific crimes. Read them for yourself. It’s time to end this cover-up and RELEASE THE FILES.”
What has Donald Trump said over the years about Jeffrey Epstein and his crimes?
Referring to Jeffrey Epstein, Donald Trump said,
“I don’t understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody. It’s pretty boring stuff. It’s sordid, but it’s boring, and I don’t understand why it keeps going.”
In 2002, he said,
“I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”
During his first term in 2019, President Trump said of Epstein,
“Well, I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him. I mean, people in Palm Beach knew him. He was a fixture in Palm Beach. I had a falling out with him a long time ago. I don’t think I’ve spoken to him for 15 years. I wasn’t a fan. I was not, yeah, a long time ago, I’d say maybe 15 years. I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you. I was not a fan of his.”
Who was dismissed as UK ambassador to the US over Epstein links?
Peter Mandelson, the UK’s ambassador to the US, was sacked by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in September 2025.
Lord Mandelson had referred to Epstein as “my best pal” in a birthday book. He also questioned Epstein’s 2008 conviction in emails, which led to increased scrutiny and his dismissal.
