Lambeth (Parliament Politics Magazine) – A 42-year-old woman is found dead with multiple stab wounds in Lambeth, prompting police to arrest a suspect on suspicion of murder, as investigations continue.
Just before 5 p.m. on Monday, police were dispatched to Tulse Hill in Brixton, Lambeth, after receiving allegations of a man brandishing a knife at a residence.
Inside McCormick House, officers discovered a 42-year-old woman who had been stabbed many times. At the scene, she was declared deceased.
A 59-year-old male was tasered by officers and taken into custody on suspicion of murder, serious bodily injury, and threats of death. He is still being held by the police.
Specialist officers have been notified and are assisting the woman’s family.
Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, who leads policing for Lambeth, said:
“This is a deeply shocking crime and our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the woman who sadly died.
Our officers have arrested a man, who remains in custody, and are working at pace to piece together what happened.
We realise this is particularly disturbing for those living in the local area. Residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the coming days and are encouraged to reach out to officers if they have any concerns.”
Enquiries continue and anyone witnesses have been asked to contact police directly.
