Harrow (Parliament Politics Magazine) – A private healthcare service launched in Harrow in 2023 is giving residents faster access to medical support, offering an alternative to long GP and hospital waiting times.
Located on Greenhill Road, six minutes’ walk from Harrow on the Hill Station, One Point Healthcare Clinic was established to offer same-day appointments, after-hours medical treatment, and reasonably priced individual consultations that start at £60 or £45 for members.
Dr. Habib Ullah, a former A&E physician with over 20 years of expertise, founded the company with the goal of providing an alternative for those who might otherwise have to wait a long time for their medical requirements.
“I spent years watching people waiting for long hours for something that could be resolved in 20 minutes,”
says Dr. Habib.
“I wanted to create a space where patients are seen quickly and treated in timely manner and the attention they deserve.”
Dr. Habib and a group of three backup physicians manage the clinic to guarantee service continuity, even on holidays and during busy periods. There are female physicians available, and every clinician is registered with the GMC. Additionally, the service complies with all CQC regulations.
Same- day appointment , private conventions accepted at any drugstore, minor procedures like crack suturing and foreign body junking, women’s healthcare, sexual health, trip vaccinations, weight loss, ECG, vitamin infusions and drips, blood tests, and bills for insurance claims are some of the services handed (cases are advised to check with their insurance before reserving the appointment).
One Point Healthcare Clinic was awarded backing by the Integrated Commissioning Board (ICB) to support the downtime healthcare program, which enables them to offer free consultations to locals and lessen the strain on NHS services throughout the downtime.
Florica, the clinic’s operations director and trained social worker, contributes her moxie to keep the service inclusive, community- concentrated, and CQC biddable.
With further than 210 reviews and a 5- star Google standing, the clinic has established a solid character. The evaluations frequently recommend the croakers for their moxie, professionalism, and compassion. They also punctuate the quick scheduling process and the helpful and welcoming event staff. Reviews also punctuate the installations’ cleanliness.
The long- term ideal, according to Dr. Habib, is to unite more closely with the NHS in order to increase service availability and dock stay times in A&E.
One Point Healthcare Clinic, which provides what Dr. Habib refers to “more than a GP, less than A&E service in the heart of the community,” is quickly becoming the preferred choice for many residents of Harrow when GP appointments are difficult to obtain or when they must wait a long time at A&E.
What free winter consultations were funded by the ICB grant?
The free downtime consultations funded by the NHS South West London Integrated Care Board( ICB) Winter Engagement Fund concentrated on helping communities stay healthy during the downtime season.
The fund supported voluntary associations running welcoming events and conditioning designed to promote health mindfulness, give information on NHS services, encourage vaccination uptake for Covid- 19 and flu, and offer practical advice on penetrating healthcare and using services like the NHS App.
Although the fund was distributed among associations in multiple megalopolises, including Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton, and Wandsworth, it generally didn’t fund direct clinical consultations but rather community engagement to promote health and good in downtime.
